Detail

Gears are mechanical elements with teeth on the wheel flange that can continuously mesh to transmit motion and power. The application of gears in transmission has appeared very early. At the end of the 19th century, the principle of the tooth cutting method and the special machine tools and tools using this principle for tooth cutting appeared one after another, and with the development of production, the stability of gear operation was valued. Cogging – The space between two adjacent teeth on a gear. Tooth top circle – The circle in which the tip of the tooth is located. Base circle – the line that forms the involute on which it makes a pure rolling circle. Indexing Circle – A reference circle in which the geometry of the gear is calculated within the end face, and for spur gears, the modulus and pressure angles are standard values on the indexing circle.
